We've got a pretty packed issue this week. The Cooper Flagg 1-of-1 is officially headed to auction, Topps Flagship Football is back, Pokémon Worlds brought huge crowds to San Francisco, and the high-end card market had another big week.

Let's get into it.

The card everyone was looking for earlier this month now has a date with an auction.

After being pulled during a RhodyBreakers break, the Cooper Flagg Rookie Debut Patch Autograph 1/1 is heading to Fanatics Collect's September Premier Auction, which runs September 10–24.

That should finally give collectors a real answer to the question everyone has been asking:

What is this card actually worth?

The card had already received multimillion-dollar offers, but those were offers — not completed sales.

Now we'll get to see what someone is actually willing to pay.

And remember how this whole thing started: someone paid $515 for the Mavericks spot in the break.

Not a bad result.

Football collectors finally got their turn this month.

2026 Topps Flagship Football released August 21, bringing Topps' classic flagship NFL cards back into the spotlight.

The set has a 400-card base checklist with current stars, rookies, Future Stars and League Leaders.

There are also Golden Mirror Image Variations, rookie variations, All Kings, Flagship First Signatures and Super Bowl Champions Signatures.

The rookie class is one of the biggest things to watch, especially with names like Fernando Mendoza getting plenty of attention.

It's a completely different feel from a premium product like Chrome Black. Flagship is all about the classic baseball-card-style look that a lot of collectors grew up with.

2025–26 Topps Chrome Black Basketball released August 27.

This is a much smaller and more premium product than regular Chrome.

The big draw is the autograph content, with one encased on-card autograph in every two-pack box.

The checklist includes Rookie Autographs along with sets such as Super Futures, Ivory Autographs and Glow Up Signatures.

So while Chrome Update is built around a bigger checklist and lots of inserts, Chrome Black is more about the premium hits.

The 2026 Pokémon World Championships wrapped up in San Francisco this weekend, and the crowds were massive.

More than 50,000 people per day attended the sold-out event at the Moscone Center, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Things got so crowded that organizers canceled Sunday's limited-edition pin giveaway because of safety concerns.

The pins had already caused huge lines earlier in the weekend, and complete sets were showing up on resale markets for around $1,000.

That's a pretty good snapshot of the demand around Pokémon's 30th anniversary.

And this wasn't just about the cards. The World Championships brought together competitive Pokémon players, collectors, fans and merchandise, making it one of the biggest Pokémon events of the year.

Sale price: $1,140,000

This 1-of-1 Ohtani card led Fanatics Collect's August Premier Auction and was the biggest sports-card sale in the auction.

It's also the fifth Ohtani card to sell for more than $1 million this year, which says a lot about how strong the market for his rare cards has been.

Aaron Judge's 2026 Topps Chrome Back-to-Back MVP Award Winner Dual Gold Logoman Patch Autograph 1/1 redemption sold for $900,000.

A 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 6 brought $690,000.

A 2003 Exquisite LeBron James rookie patch autograph /23 sold for $588,000.

Michael Jordan's 1986 Fleer rookie autograph PSA 8 sold for $516,000.

This was a seriously big week for the sports-card market..

One of the most interesting things about the hobby is that two cards can look completely different in value even when they're of the same player.

Take the Ohtani card that sold for $1.14 million this week.

It's not just an Ohtani card.

It's a 1-of-1, it has a Logoman patch, it carries an autograph, and it's from a premium Topps Dynasty release.

All of those things stack together.

This one is staying every week.

Which statement is real?

A) Topps Flagship Football returned in 2026 after years away from licensed NFL cards.

A is real.

The other three are false. The $3.1 million number was a reported offer, not a completed sale. Pokémon Worlds was not canceled, and Chrome Black's box configuration is nowhere near ten autographs.

Three clues:

Clue #1: It's a sports card.

Clue #2: It's a 1-of-1.

Clue #3: It sold for more than $1 million this week.
